Cappadocia is a short flight from Istanbul, which is why people try to do it in a day. Sometimes that is right. Often it is not.
The balloons decide it
The balloons fly at sunrise and only when the wind allows. A single day gives you one chance at them, and if the wind is wrong that chance is gone. Two days gives you two mornings. That is the whole argument for staying a second night, and it is a good one.
What each length covers
- One day. Flights both ways, the north valleys, Goreme and the open air museum. Long, but it works.
- Two days, one night. Adds the balloon morning and the southern valleys, including the underground city at Kaymakli.
- Three or four days. Adds the quieter valleys and time to walk them rather than photograph them from a viewpoint.
All of our Cappadocia packages include the flights, the transfers, a cave hotel and the guided days. They are quoted individually, because the price depends on your dates and the hotels available.
